If you need a jar to keep items fresh, you might want to spend a little more money for a nicer jar, but, if you just need a jar to put stuff in, this works great. I keep dog treats in it. The opening is nice and wide so I have no problems getting dog biscuits out of it. great design. well thought out, and fairly easy to assemble. poor product quality, not close to what even a lower level Thomasville company should be. the finish was scratched, and in places peeled. wood split. the drawer front was missing. shipment damage included a dented top. to be fair, an 800 number is there to order replacement parts free of charge, so we’ll see what shape they arrive in. I have the matching hutch and buffet with similar damgage.
I got this yesterday and put it together last night. It took just over an hour by myself. The directions are really easy to follow (even when the pieces are not marked like mine). I was missing the drawer front and called and left a message with the company and they called me first thing this morning and are shipping it to me free of charge, it was great to have no hassle at all, they are really great!
The finished product looks nice. I have a couple of gaps but that is because I didn’t tighten some of the screws properly so its fixable. Lots of room inside.
Only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 was:
1) drawer bottom looks super flimsy…I would not recommend for a silverware drawer I don’t think it could hold a full set.
2) the shelves are a little too close together. Someone with more construction skill could easily move them, I am not going to attempt it and risk damage…I’m handy but not that handy!
3) The top has a lip, I expected this to be on the front, but its at the back so that is weird to me. I personally have this against a wall so it just makes it sit that much farther out but not a huge deal. I just wasn’t expecting it, it is definately not something you could sit at so I don’t see the point.
Overall, for the price it looks really nice. And if you have any missing parts the company that makes it is really really easy to deal with! I definately would recommend this to a friend. This hoist does exactly what it is advertized to do. Installation
took about 45 minutes. Its not something for a small person to
use as it does take a minimum amount of strenght to lift and lower
a kayak, but it does the job very nicely. I did have to shorten
the straps that were provided as they left the kayak hanging a couple
of feet from the ceiling. I did this by cutting it to the proper length
gluing the strap to a piece of 1 inch iluminum pipe and then putting two
